Man About Town

Fledgling craftsman, preening dandy and man about town.
Here I shall post pictures of things that delight me and poor quality photographs of works in progress and shamelessly encourage you to buy them.

Made some belts, awled some bag straps today. Too many finger injuries for serious stitching.

Here’s an article about me and what I do. Read it, aye?

That’s my Raleigh Connoisseur, it’s like riding a handsome boulder.

I’m in the process of making a massive bag, using two Continental mountain bike tyres. The outer two strips still have the kevlar beading, I’m not sure whether the added rigidity will be a help or a hinderence.
It’s a pain in the arse when I measure out the lengths to cut them at, but they don’t match up once I’ve stitched them together.
I’ve a design for a pannier/satchel floating about in my head- possibly scribbled down somewhere. This will be the prototype.

January was a write off, but now I’m getting back into making things again. Here’s a saddle bag I just finished. Slightly experimental with an overlap between the two tyres rather than a pinch (these are made up technical terms). I also have the treads reversed (Something I probably won’t do again as it opens asymmetrically).

Not quite done yet, but getting there.
